Research suggests that over half of babies born in the UK today will now live to 100 years of age. The study, published in The Lancet Journal and reported by the BBC, collaborated data from more than 30 developed countries and shows that since 1950 the probability of living past 80 has doubled.
Professor Kaare Christensen, of the Danish Ageing Research Center at the University of Southern Denmark, leads the study and believes that the increase in life span shows no signs of slowing down.
